Volunteer roles include Free Store preparation/shelf stocking, Assisting with Free Store teacher shopping, or assisting with Pencil Boy Express, the mobile Free Store.

Specific tasks will vary depending on the day and the type of shift each volunteer is fulfilling. The tasks listed for each shift on our volunteer portal are general guidelines and may vary according to need. Available positions may include: Front Desk Assistant — Help make a great first impression by welcoming guests to the store and assisting in office projects. Responsibilities include answering phones, monitoring the front door, greeting guests upon arrival, and helping with various small projects. Free Store Prep Assistant — Help prepare the store for teachers to shop by stocking, sorting, cleaning, and displaying supplies. This position prepares the Free Teacher Supply Store for opening by restocking shelves and ensuring all product is neat and organized. Teacher Check-in Assistant — Welcome teachers and help prepare them to shop by checking them in and answering any questions. Teacher Shopping Assistant — Teacher Shopping Assistant — Provide exceptional customer service during store hours by stocking, assisting teachers while they are shopping, answering questions, and checking them out once they have made their selections.

Cool, comfortable clothing. Closed toe/heel shoes required
Any Further Specifications
